  • Getting into Bhutan

    By Air

    The fastest and the best way to enter Bhutan is by flight. Bhutan has got two air line company and they are Druk air (national airline) and Bhutan Airlines (private air line). Druk air flies into Paro, from Thaliland (Bangkok), India (New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bagdogra and Guwahati), Nepal (Kathmandu), Singapore and Bangladesh (Dhaka).  Bhutan Airlines also flies to the following destinations, Bangkok, Kathmandu, Delhi and Kolkata.


    By Land

    To enter Bhutan by land, tourist can enter Bhutan from Indian airport Bagdogra (west Bengal) in south west of Bhutan is 4hrs drive from the Bhutanese border town Phuentsholing.  The Bhutanese border town Gelephu in the centrel south is also entry and exit point, where it takes seven hours to reach Guwahati, Assam.  Samdrupjongkhar in east is a Bhutanese border town where it takes 3 hrs of drive to reach Guwahati, Assam.
  • Visa

    Visa is required for travelling to Bhutan. To process visa you are required to email us the photo-page of your passport and your passport should have a minimum of six month validity. The visa will be processed after receiving the full tour payment. Once received visa will be processed and the visa clearance will be issued by the department of immigration, ministry of home and cultural affairs, and Royal Government of Bhutan within 72 working hours.  After receiving the visa clearance the same will be emailed to you. Tourist entering Bhutan through flight or by land through Phuentsholing is required to produce visa clearance at the immigration counter.  Visa fee is USD $ 40 (one time visa fee) which is charged extra along with tour cost.

  • Reservation and Cancellation policy

    Payment: (credit card facility)

    We provide credit card facility.

    50 % payment is required while confirming the tour. The remaining payment or 100 % payment must be made one month prior to the arrival date of the group.

    100% payment is required for the flight tickets before the purchase of ticket.

    Forigner Tourist: Bhutan visa will be approved by the government only after the full tour payment is wired transferred to Tourism council of Bhutan Bank account received from the guests.

    Indian Tourist: Require Voter card and Passport for permit.

    Tour cancellation policy

    • 90% refund for the tour cancelled before 45 days of arrival date, payment transfer charges will be charged.
    • 75% refund for the tour cancelled between 30 to 45 days of arrival date.
    • No refund for the tour cancelled less than 30 days of arrival date and for the change of itinerary.

    The above policy doesn’t apply to the luxury hotels. Luxury hotels have their own cancellation policy. So please check with us.

    Flight Cancellation Policy: (Documentation charge USD 25/ticket)

    • 70% refund for cancellation made before 30 days of travel date (Documentation charge applicable).
    • 30% refund for cancellation made between 15 to 30 days of travel date.
    • NO refund for cancellation made less than 15 days of travel date.
    • Documentation charge applicable for the change of dates, sectors etc. (issued tickets only, Nu 1,500/ticket).


    To do trekking in the high altitude, insurance is mandatory.

    You must provide us with your insurance policy details and your contact information while confirming the tour.

    For trekking, if the group finishes the trek or incomplete the trek before the scheduled date, guests must pay directly for the extra expenses.

    Condition on tour booking with us

    Itinerary is made depending on the availability of hotels and as per guest’s interest.

    Once the itinerary is made and agreed between the parties, we don’t entertain to change in itinerary. Guests have to pay extra for any change in the itinerary. 

    While on tour in Bhutan, GreenForest Bhutan will not be responsible for any loss or damage of your personal belongings. Your goods should be at your own risk.




  • Daily Tarrif

    The minimum daily package is set by Tourism council of Bhutan (TCB), Royal Government of Bhutan. The visa is processed and approved by department of Immigration, Royal Government of Bhutan only when the total cost of the tour is deposited in TCB account. The total cost of the tour you have send remains in TCB‘s account and remain safe till you complete your tour with us. After completion of the tour then only TCB will release the tour amount to travel agents. So to confirm your tour advanced payment is required and also in the peak season there will be less chance of getting hotels and air tickets as they are limited luxurious hotels in the country as of now.

    The minimum daily package for tourists travelling in a group of 3 persons or more is as follows:
    USD $200 per person per night for the months of January, February, June, July, August, and December.
    USD $250 per person per night for the months of March, April, May, September, October, and November.

    The tariff above set by Tourism council of Bhutan is same for cultural tours, treks and any other special tours.

    The minimum daily package covers the following services:

    • Government royalty and all the taxes
    • Accommodations in best 3 star hotels on twin sharing basis
    • All meals (breakfast, lunch & dinner)
    • Full time English speaking  guide
    • entrance fees and permits
    • All internal transport (excluding internal flights)and sightseeing within Bhutan as per the itinerary

    Not included in the minimum daily package are:

    • USD $ 40 (one time visa fee)
    • Flight fare
    • Refreshment, any alcoholic beverages and any other personal expenses
    • Travel insurance ( Must for trekking)
    • Luxury star hotels and resorts available at an additional cost
    • Luxury camping/trekking can be arranged at an additional cost
    • Gratuities to guide, driver, trekking staff, etc.
    • Specialized guides (Foreign language, photography, Bird watching, Buddhism, flora and fauna) available at an additional cost.


    Tourist travelling in a group less than 3 people is subject to a surcharge, in addition to the minimum daily package.

    These are as follows:

    Single individual – US $ 40 per night

    Group of 2 persons only – US $ 30 per person per night


    Single room supplement

    The Government set package rates are valid for accommodation on twin sharing basis and incase of using single room, following supplements will be applicable:

    For, Festival seas $ 50 per single room per night

    For, other seas $ 30 per single room per night

    Visa Fee

    Visa fee USD $ 40 (onetime payment) per person is payable extra and it can paid along with tour payment.
